REVAMPED CUPBOARD DOOR March 29 2015, 60 Comments

Ok so I wanted a quick and easy project to do this weekend and after having my 2 beautiful granddaughters over the other day I had girlie décor on the brain. I have a variety of cupboard doors and decided I should revamp one as wall art. I had this really pretty paint color (peru) which is a beautiful deep pink. I mixed up a batch of chalk style paint and painted the entire cupboard 2 coats. I felt the paint needed a bit more depth and texture so I dry brushed white craft paint here and there until I was happy with the color. I traced the words PARIS on the top and bottom frame as well tried my best to free hand 2 dress forms on the sides and a few swirls on each corner.

Normally I would have taken more time and traced and painted the image but I was looking for a QUICK weekend project!  I found some solid pink scrapbook paper in my stock and decided to print this very popular and amazing GRAPHIC'S FAIRY IMAGE and decoupage the paper onto the door instead. (unfortunately I cut off the bottom scrolls as I couldn't fit the entire image).

To finish off this project I gave the entire door a coat of clear wax and acrylic sealant for added durability.

THE BEFORE PICTURE OF THE DOOR IS NOT THE EXACT DOOR ALTHOUGH SIMILAR. AS ALWAYS I SO OFTEN FORGET TO SNAP THAT BEFORE PICTURE.

AMAZING the things you can create with a vintage cupboard door!

Newest Project January 21 2015, 0 Comments

I had picked up this little wooden jug/recipe book holder awhile ago but had no idea what I was going to do with it. While on my daily visit to the Graphics Fairy website I came across the perfect image. The image was of an ironstone pitcher which looked exactly like my thrift store find. I absolutely loved the vintage antique crockery shop advertisement and new it would be perfect!  I painted the pitcher in an apple green and the bottom black chalkboard paint. I then printed the image, traced it, then painted it on and voila here is the finished product.

Painted Wine Bottles December 26 2014, 3 Comments

I love painting and decorating wine bottles although this set in particular I feel may have a story behind the images. I found these images on the Graphics Fairy website and felt I needed to use them together some how. I painted the bottles with a clay colored home made style chalk paint and them glazed the entire bottle and image with a walnut glaze then sealed them with an acrylic spray. I used embellishments and twine to decorate them. It looks as though these young boys have given the girls flowers and a note. A vintage Victorian young love story!
